Extreme Sport Startup

Project Challenges:
Tight Timeline and Dual-Platform Delivery
The client required complete delivery for both iOS and Android platforms within just three months, including all backend, CMS, and mobile functionality.
Dynamic Content Management for Partnerships
The business model relied heavily on partner promotions and collaborations, demanding a flexible CMS for real-time management of offers, achievements, and marketing campaigns.
Compliance and Cost Constraints
The solution needed to meet GDPR regulations and App Store/Google Play policies while operating on a limited infrastructure budget, ensuring scalability without costly backend computation.
Our Solutions:
Business and Product Consulting
We conducted intensive workshops to validate ideas, define priorities, and align UX/UI with achievable delivery milestones. Our team also prepared technical documentation, a launch plan, pricing logic, and a market positioning strategy to guide development and rollout.
Platform and CMS Development
We built the backend using Strapi for its headless, API-first flexibility, implementing a custom CMS that provided full control of in-app content, partner offers, and analytics.
Custom analytics were added to monitor user activity, engagement, and campaign performance.
Mobile Application
We developed iOS and Android apps featuring GPS-based ride tracking, challenges, leaderboards, and community interactions.
A notification system guided users through free and premium features, supporting in-app purchase flows.
Cost Optimization
To reduce server costs, on-device computation was implemented for challenge and achievement logic (distance, speed, completion, etc.), saving approximately $72000/y per 10,000 active users.
Project Overview
It is a sports startup that approached us with an ambitious goal – to launch a fully functional mobile application within just three months of receiving investment. The app was designed to collect GPS-based ride data, manage achievements, and support community features such as content sharing, comments, groups, and trip creation.
In parallel, the client needed a content management system (CMS) to manually manage all app data – including challenges, achievements, promotions, partner discounts, and other marketing-related content.
Through a combination of product consulting, technical design, and rapid prototyping, we delivered both the mobile apps and CMS on time. The result was a scalable, compliant, and cost-optimized system ready for public launch.
Within three months, the client received
-
A fully functional cross-platform mobile app (iOS and Android) featuring GPS tracking, challenges, achievements, and community features.
-
A flexible CMS and analytics dashboard for partners, promotions, and events.
-
A cost-efficient architecture that allowed the startup to scale sustainably through its first production season.
